Grand Opening: Join Us for a Celebration of Mediterranean Flavors — Meza n Moka, Livermore CA

The doors are open at 1116 E Stanley Blvd. Meza n Moka is Livermore's newest table for authentic Mediterranean and North African cooking, paired with a full coffee and chai bar under the same roof.

The name says exactly what we set out to build. "Meza" is our take on mezze — the shared small plates and unhurried, gather-around-the-table spirit of Mediterranean dining. "Moka" is the coffee pot that has perfumed kitchens across the region for generations. We wanted a place where you could order a plate of shish kebabs and a cortado without leaving your seat, and that's exactly what opened its doors this month.

A Dream Rooted in Two Traditions

After months of building out the space, testing recipes, and pulling shots until they tasted right, we're finally ready to welcome Livermore in. Every dish on our menu and every drink behind our counter reflects the same idea: two culinary traditions, done properly, served together.

What's on the Table

Our kitchen is anchored by a full slate of North African Plates. The Traditional Lamb Couscous ($21) is tender, slow-cooked lamb over fluffy couscous with seasonal vegetables and a rich North African sauce; the Traditional Beef Couscous ($20) follows the same method with beef, and the vegan-friendly Vegetable Couscous ($18) piles the same slow-cooked vegetables and chickpeas over couscous for a plate that skips the meat without skipping the flavor. If you want something with more heat, the Tunisian Ojja With Merguez brings grilled merguez sausage together in a bold, spicy tomato-and-pepper stew.

Alongside those, we serve the Mediterranean classics you'd expect from us, made the way they should be:

  • Algiers Merguez ($20) — our own spiced beef sausage, grilled to order
  • Chicken, Beef & Lamb Shawarma — stacked, shaved, and wrapped fresh
  • Combo Shawarma, Two Meats ($20) — for the table that can't decide
  • Chicken, Lamb & Beef Shish Kebabs — char-grilled skewers with rice
  • Hummus & Pita ($6.50), Baba Ghanoush & Pita ($7.50), and four crisp Falafels ($4.95) to start

From Our Coffee Bar

The café side of the room runs just as deep. Our Turkish Coffee ($5) is brewed slowly in a cezve for a thick, foamy cup, and our Arabic Coffee ($5) is infused with cardamom for a warmer, more aromatic finish. If chai is more your pace, we pour it the traditional way in a Chai in a Clay Pot (12 oz, $5) or steep a full Algerian Mint Tea ($4.50) with fresh mint leaves. For dessert, our Kunafa ($9) — a sweet cheese pastry soaked in orange blossom syrup — has quickly become a favorite with our first guests.

We wanted a place where you could order a plate of shish kebabs and a cortado without leaving your seat.

100% Halal, Always

Every cut of meat we serve — beef, lamb, and chicken alike — is 100% halal and hand-slaughtered, and every dish is prepared in a kitchen that takes that standard seriously. It's not a footnote for us; it's the baseline everything else is built on.

Join Us for the Celebration

To mark the opening, we're inviting Livermore to join our list for first word on new dishes, events, and offers — everyone who signs up gets a welcome thank-you as part of our launch. We're also open for catering if you'd like to bring the menu to your next gathering.

Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or booking a table for the whole family, we can't wait to welcome you. View our full menu, or order pickup and delivery to taste it from home tonight.
